FINANCE INNOVATION supports QuantValley launch: objective «Paris-2020 Cité des Quants»
Post crisis, professionals in the field of quantitative management in Paris have joined forces to set up QuantValley, a project to promote quantitative finance and its contribution to research, risk management and value creation for investors.
A pioneering entrepreneurial initiative, QuantValley brings together academic skills and market expertise in the world of quantitative management. Set up in June 2010, its 20 founding members include, at present eight management firms, university centres and
research laboratories.
QuantValley aims to encourage the emergence of sustainable links between the academic and professional fields and to foster financial innovation through teamwork. The project is backed by the Louis Bachelier Institute and the «FINANCE INOVATION» international cluster with support from Paris Europlace (see their profiles in the Appendix).
QuantValley pools independent French quantitative skills and backs new enterprises to become "PARIS 2020 Cité des Quants". Its mission is to promote this market place's expertise across the world.
As a unique platform of competences, pooling resources, the Vallée des Quants will create a sustainable ecosystem for backing research, attracting talent and international investors.
I've been working on this project for ten years, points out Arnaud Chrétien, driving force behind QuantValley and founder of the quantitative management firm Aequam Capital. In this new decade I believe we will be able to rethink group projects in finance. And this has been confirmed by the enthusiasm of the first actors to join us, he added.
QuantValley is attending Talents de la Gestion on December 16, in Paris, and will be participating in many forums in Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia in 2011.
